Calyos to Showcase Fanless NSG Kits and NSG-S0 Systems at CES

Calyos is a Belgian company specializing in fanless cooling solutions and has announced that they will be present at CES 2017 in Las Vegas to demonstrate their CALYTRONICS Liquid Heatpipe-based technology used in their NSG Cube kit and NSG-S0 systems.

Much of the noise generated by a running PC, especially those with high-end components, are from the cooling fans either actively cooling the CPU or GPU directly or the cooling fans mounted to create an airflow. Calyos gets away with not using an active fan cooling solution through using a Loop Heat Pipe which is a sealed two-phase cooling device made up of an evaporator (with integrated capillary pump), a tubed condenser and connecting lines. Inside is a thermal working fluid which the heat transfer is done through continues the passive cycles of vaporization and condensation.

The NSG-S0 system itself resembles a smaller 90-degree turned Thermaltake Core P5 chassis although smaller measuring 139 x 400 x 410mm with the motherboard PCB laying flat parallel to the video card which is mounted using a ribbon cable. Heatpipes from the block on the CPU and GPU extend to the rest of the chassis body which essentially acts as a giant passive heatsink relying on the ambient air for heat dissipation.

According to Fanless Tech, there is an NSG kit that attaches to a Thermaltake Core P3 case however, that users can integrate into their own fanless build. The demo system is surprisingly powerful with an i7-6700K and an MSI GTX 1070 so the LHP cooling system is more capable than it seems.

The NSG Cube kit was also spotted at Fanless Tech and resembles Streacom’s DB4 fanless cube case and uses the same Loop Heat Pipe design.

Calyos will be showcasing their products at the Las Vegas Convention Center inside South Hall 2 booth 26904 from January 5th to 8th, 2017.
