Chewi Hi8 SE 8″ Android Tablet Review

Chewi Hi8 SE

Chewi may not necessarily be a brand that you have heard of, but the company is trying very hard to change that. The company has released a wide variety of tablets and are still working hard to make a market for itself in providing low-cost tablets that provide remarkable levels of functionality and performance.

With this in mind, the Chewi Hi8 SE provides something that on the surface is very appealing. With an 8″ screen and ultra-slim design, the main key focus feature of the tablet is that it is easily capable of being held in one hand. Offering the Android operating system though, despite its slimline nature, it still looks to provide you with excellent functionality. Particularly in audio and video.

Features

The key features for the Chewi Hi8 SE include;

  • 8″ screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution.
  • Slim one-handed operation.
  • OGS IPS Screen for high-quality image quality and interaction.
  • 64-bit Quad Core Processor

What Does Chewi Have To Say?

“The IPS screen on Hi8 SE utilizes OGS craftsmanship,which makes the tablet more transparent and beautiful. Seamless visual effect brings better contrast and more accurate color rendition.” – Chewi

Packaging

In terms of the exterior packaging, it could do a little more in terms of aesthetics. The beige box doesn’t speak of an exciting product and if it wasn’t for the more flamboyant product label, this would be a very drab affair indeed.

The details provided on the label do actually tell you pretty much everything you could want to know, so at least in that regard the packaging is good.

What’s in the Box

The product is provided with the tablet in a protective sleeve, the product manual/documentation as well as a charging cable. We should note that you are not provided with a charging plug, but this isn’t uncommon for most tablets. As a nice little bonus, the tablet we recieved was fully charged so we were able to operate it immediately out of the box.
