Computex: We Get Up Close With The NZXT H230 Chassis

The NZXT Phantom H630 is an absolutely incredible chassis, yet with greatness comes an equally spectacular price of £120 / $170 US and that isn’t exactly budget friendly. Of course when you pay that kind of money for a chassis you are getting a lot in return and it’s by far one of the finest PC cases ever made in terms of function, design and performance, but it’s still expensive.

However, NZXT are not ignorant to the needs of the common man and have addressed their pricing issues with a new chassis, the H230 and it’s set to hit the market at a super reasonable $69.99 but still pack plenty of features that you would expect from NZXT or from any chassis of this price, best of all is that they’ve fitted it with the same sound dampening as the NZXT H2 and that should help keep things whisper quiet.

As you can see in the picture above, it’s still a great looking design and while it’s a little more of a standard chassis than the H630 it’s well equipped.

The front panel features an off angle edge that gives it a cool modern look, it’s only a little touch but it help add a little style to the front panel and that’s never a bad thing.

The I/O is fairly standard but it has everything you need to hook up the important stuff.

Modular HDD bays are more than welcome in any chassis and NZXT have even spring to using a decent flat USB 3.0 header cable, which should help a little with cable management.

Behind the front panel door there are three clip-in 5.25″ bay covers and a groovy looking air intake.

It’s also available in black, but I personally think the white looks much better.

It’s nothing spectacular in terms of features, but it is priced very competitively and it’s more than enough for most mid to high end gaming rigs, plus it looks pretty cool and for some people that’s more than enough.
