Cooler Master Excalibur 120mm Fan Review

Acoustic performance of the Cooler Master Excalibur was average. It performs equivalent to the Reeven ColdWing Performance PWM fan which is similarly priced. We can see for comparison a Be Quiet! Shadow Wings fan spinning at the same RPMs (except it didn’t spin at 2000 RPM because its a 1500 RPM fan). Clearly Cooler Master have a lot to do to catch up with Be Quiet! on the acoustic front,  and the airflow seemed lower than the Reeven fan too (85CFM versus 106CFM if we believe manufacturer specifications).

Although, CFM is very difficult to measure without expensive equipment and the performance of a fan on a heatsink is too variable (consider temperatures will vary depending on the case, CPU type, heatsink type, number of fans, PWM controls etc) to use that as a method of judging airflow.
