Pricing

Retailing for a price in the region of £110.00 for a 240mm cooler the Cooler Master Master Liquid ML240R RGB is certainly towards the higher end of the price bracket. It is, in addition, a little more pricey than we are accustomed to seeing from Cooler Master products. That being said, in terms of performance in temperatures and noise as well as the looks, this cooler is worth every penny.

I have reviewed coolers that have given better temperatures. I have also reviewed those that have been quieter, but in terms of a complete package, the price for this reflects true value for money.

Overview

There is very little about this product I didn’t like. In terms of the design and installation, this was one of the easier coolers I’ve had on the test bench for some time. In addition, when running the lighting effects are fantastic and not only that, it performs exceptionally well.

This really is a complete package and with the massive RGB lighting functions available both in sync and manual control, it’s hard to fault.

Build Quality

Overall the cooler, fans and radiator are of really nice quality. While Cooler Master is perhaps best known for providing a decent ‘bang for buck’ on a product, I feel that they have pushed the boat out a little with this one. That is of course reflected in the pricing, but I can’t emphasize enough just how much quality you get for that price.

My only criticism of the Cooler Master Master Liquid ML240R RGB as a whole is the RGB lighting controller. It feels cheap and lightweight. In addition, the pin adaptors are a near guarantee to break or snap at some point. You will really want to treat this adaptor with kid gloves. Albeit we don’t test things to a breaking point, I suspect it wouldn’t take too much of a ham fist to manage it in this one regard.

Fans

I love the fan design. Particularly how they have recessed the fixing points to allow maximum coverage of the radiator. In addition, the RGB lighting effects are amongst the best I’ve seen on such a cooler and trust me, I see a lot of RGB lighting. In addition, the thumb style screws to fit the fans are a fantastic design choice and one which makes installation so much faster and easier.

Coming with 2 of Cooler Masters own fans, if they decided to sell these separately (which they just might) then they would make a fantastic addition to even a system build, let alone a cooler. With the RGB controller as well allowing for 12 connections, you really could have the most insanely blinged out system imaginable.

Performance

The testing charts don’t lie. The Cooler Master Master Liquid ML240R RGB has exceeded any expectations I had and then some more. I really can not understate just how excellent this cooler performed both in terms of temperature and acoustics. This cooler should easily handle your PC’s requirements be it for gaming or for the highest end of home-level overclocking.

Should I Buy One?

If you are looking for a 240mm cooler with RGB lighting effects then I wholeheartedly recommend the Cooler Master Master Liquid ML240R RGB. The performance charts alone are a clear indicator that this is a quality cooler. In addition, it was an absolute breeze to get mounted on our test system.

Yes, the RGB controller it comes with does feel a little cheap. That being said though, it worked perfectly fine for me in testing.

I don’t often gush over a product this much. I can say in all honesty, however, that if I was in the market for an AIO liquid cooler, I would struggle to name one better within this price range. It really is that good.
