Cooler Master Seidon 240M Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Stock temperatures are a fair bit higher than the Cooler Master H100i so we can only assume that the CoolIT pump Corsair uses is a lot stronger. However, the Seidon 120M is competitive with Enermax’s ELC 240 and Thermaltake’s Water 2.0 Extreme.

The acoustic performance of the Cooler Master Seidon 240M is pretty good with respect to the fans. The pump is quite loud in relation to some of the competition but the quieter fans balance this out.

Overclocking revealed that the Cooler Master Seidon 240M is identical to the Enermax ELC 240 in performance. We tested the Seidon 240M with maximum fan speeds just for a point of reference, however it only shaved an extra 2 degrees off but added a huge amount of noise – so we wouldn’t recommend more than about 1200RPM for 24/7 use if you want silence.

Here you can see what we mean. The normal fan profile represents a maximum reached RPM of about 1200-1300RPM via normal PWM controlling and even at this level the Seidon 240M is still moderately loud for its performance – offering almost identical performance/noise as the Enermax ELC 240. If you were to manually set the fans to 100%, as we did, then you get a huge noise output total of 63 decibels for an extra two degrees of cooling.
