Because the PSU, storage bays, and a few other bits and bobs are tucked in the rear compartment, there’s a vast amount of space on offer here. It’ll support up to an E-ATX motherboard, and I suspect XL-ATX should fit too. The motherboard can sit lower down in the chassis with no PSU in the way, allowing more room for cable routing and cooling hardware.
There’s a set of 120/140mm mounts in the base, which are perfect for adding a few extra fans. However, You may get a radiator here, depending on the configuration of your front cooling mounts, PCIe devices, etc.
While it may be setup to handle plenty of liquid cooling, the stock fan configuration is pretty superb. A wall of LL120 fans in the front, with their own dust filter, is always welcome. Not only do we know these are great fans for airflow, they’ll also look stunning with the aRGB powered up.
There’s a fourth fan in the back too, albeit one without RGB, and it’s mounted as the exhaust.
To make your life easier, all twelve of the expansion slots come fitted with reusable covers, and with thumbscrews; always a welcome feature!
When it comes to cable management, you are absolutely spoilt with the 680X. There are two banks of large routing grommets on the right edge of the motherboard, with two more above it, and a long one below it. If you can get a cable where it needs to go, I’d be shocked.
There’s plenty of room for the PSU here, and it even comes with a fully adjustable end bracket, ensuring you can brace it firmly in place. Beyond that, there’s plenty of room for a long PSU and any amount of excess cables you need to cram out of sight.
All of the storage bays are back here too, with 3 x HDD bays on the lower section.
Above that, four SSD mounts, and just like the 3.5″ mounts, they’re all tool-free! Furthermore, you can completely remove the bays, should you have a need for it.
Finally, we have this handy little hub, which is perfect for hooking up all of your fans, and their RGB lighting. This means you get more cables out of sight. Of course, it means Corsair’s software can give you control over those lovely aRGB fan lights.
