Corsair Gaming M65 RGB Laser Gaming Mouse

Performance

Before you get started, you should download the Corsair Gaming software. Upon first use, the mouse had a firmware update that needed to be flashed to the mouse; fortunately this whole process only took a minute or two to complete.

The software offers extensive customisation of the M65’s features. All the buttons are fully programmable with a range of shortcuts, macros, launchers and more.

There are five DPI toggle stages, plus one extra for the sniper button. If you don’t want this many to flick through, you can disable/enable each stage from the software. On this page you can also configure the liftoff height, motion speed and save/import profiles.

The light settings are nice and easy to configure, just pick the zone you want to change and play around with the colour of your choice; there’s also further options for customisable lighting effects.

Sensor performance on the M65 RGB is nothing short of exceptional, all the way through I found very favourable results from this mouse. It’s accurate, easy to control and there are absolutely no sights of acceleration or angle snapping.

Need ultra accuracy? I set the sniper button to drop the mouse to just 50 DPI and as you can see, this made it very easy to control.

Gaming performance from the M65 RGB was exactly what I expected; the mouse doesn’t disappoint one bit. The programmable mouse buttons and macro features will no doubt please RPG and MMO gamers, while the sniper button and excellent sensor performance are perfect for FPS gaming. The mouse tracks really well on thick and soft gaming surfaces as much as it does on hard cloth, so there really is something for everyone here. The only downsides I can think of are that the mouse doesn’t work well for a lift-off technique and there’s currently no option for left-handed players.
