Corsair Glaive RGB Pro Gaming Mouse Review

A Closer Look

The mouse itself comes in at 115g meaning that it is slightly heavy, but Corsair claims that it’s still 10% lighter than its predecessor. Even though it’s on the heavy side, it still feels very light considering its size. So yes it’s heavy, but it’s light for a large and bulky design! Did that make sense? Good!

Fully Programmable

Looks wise, it’s great with a combination of nice textures and durable materials. The inner chassis of the mouse is very robust. Of course, that helps with the overall strength. Furthermore, it gives a solid mounting point for the additional panels.

Looking down at the left side of the mouse, we have the typical two side buttons. Especially handy for navigating through websites. However, remember that this mouse is fully programmable. iCue software will allow you to set any button to whatever you want.

Adjustable Side Panels

The standard or stock side panel has a hard wearing rubber grip coating. You’ll notice that it’s quite a slim and concave design. This is ideal for those who play with a fingertip or claw grip play style. It’s slightly undercut too, so you can use a lift-off technique. The panel is held in place by magnets. So if you don’t like it, just pull it off, and snap in a new one.

The second set is a little bit wider. If you’ve got a larger hand, this can be quite beneficial and much more comfortable. This grip is ideal for those who use the same grip type, but also good for a palm rest grip or hybrid grip.

Winged Side Panel

Finally, we have the ultra-wide wing design panel. This one has a much larger grip and room to rest your thumb. If you game with a full laid-back lazy palm resting grip, this is perfect. It’ll stop your thumb dragging on the desk, and keep your fingers fully on the mouse body.

Still on the left side, you’ll find an RGB lighting strip running down the mouse. It sits between the side navigation buttons and the top panel. If that’s not enough, you’ll also find five LED indicator lights above that. They’ve perfect for checking DPI level, on-board profiles, etc.

Around the back, there’s a simple Corsair logo. Well, fairly simple, as it’s backed with RGB lighting.

Down the right side of the mouse, things are a lot simpler. There’s another durable grip panel, but unlike the left, this side is fixed in place.

OMRON Switches

The LMB and RMB are formed from a single piece of plastic on the top panel that splits just behind the mouse wheel. They’re mounted with their own springs and a pair of OMRON switches on the underside. This gives them a really nice tactile and audible “click” that’s going to be great for gaming. There’s just a soft curve to the buttons too, which gives you a very natural finger resting position.

Sitting proudly in the centre, you’ll find their large scroll wheel. Of course, it features RGB lighting in the centre, with a metal ring giving it added weight and durability. The outer coating, however, is a thick and soft rubber tread for added ease of use.

Behind the scroll wheel, you’ll find a pair of DPI control switches. Again, this is their default function. However, if you wanted to re-program these too, you absolutely can in the iCue software.

Extra Glide

Finally, we can see the underside of the mouse. Here you can see part of the forward sections metal skeleton that makes up the Glaive. It’s a pretty flat and featureless base, which will help improve the glide. Furthermore, four huge slipmats, plus an additional one on the magnetic side grip, will improve that further.
