Corsair Glaive RGB Pro Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Corsair Glaive RGB Pro launches today, so should be hitting retail stores in the UK for around £69.99 and $69.99 in the US. That’s not overly cheap, but this isn’t your run-of-the-mill mouse either. You pay more for a premium product and you certainly get a lot back for your investment. Remember when shopping that this is the Pro model. The non-pro version is last years model.

Overview

Corsair is one of the hottest gaming brands of the last decade, and it’s easy to see why. They’ve already got a solid gaming peripheral line up available. However, the Pro just squeezes ahead to be a little bit faster, lighter, and more refined than last years model. I doubt Glaive owners will be upgrading to the new one. However, if you’re in the market for a premium and versatile gaming mouse, it’s a hell of a place to start.

Build Quality

It’s as rock solid as they come, and that’s obviously a good thing. Corsair was able to deliver a superbly tough gaming mouse, while also keeping the weight lower than last years model. They even make a model with the aluminium finish on some of the sections, albeit we have the all black version.

Small details add up though, such as the braided cable, durable magnetic mounting for the side panels, hard-wearing rubber grips, OMRON switches, etc. Again, you really do get what you pay for.

Performance

The sensor Corsair is using on their flagship gaming mice is as good as they come. Operating from 100 DPI all the way up to 18,000 is incredible. You can drop from blazing fast turning speeds while gaming, down to extreme pixel to pixel precision for sniping, editing work, etc. The button configuration in iCue also means I was able to have a profile for Apex Legends, and switch right back to a more work-friendly profile at the tap of a button.

Should I Buy One?

It’s hard not to recommend this mouse. It’s got a lot to offer to just about everybody. You can customise the shape and size of it, the sensor is great for everything from the office to a LAN tournament. Plus, not only does it look and feel great, but it’s also priced competitively.
