Fan Speed

Much to my appreciation, the Corsair HX1500i has avoided the somewhat modern trappings of having some kind of separate ‘zero RPM’ functionality. They have, instead, taken what I consider to be the far smarter route of simply utilising a higher-quality fan and setting it to run in a manner entirely appropriate the what the PSU is doing.

While the fan settings can be altered through Corsair’s i-Cue software, truth be told, you probably don’t have to bother. – Below around 50-60% load, the PSU doesn’t deem it necessary to run the fan at all. And even at 100% load, while a recorded speed of around 900-950RPM might sound high, the Corsair HX1500i still remains exceptionally quiet.

All in all, the fan performance offered here is absolutely perfect to suit not only the cooling requirements of the PSU, but also in providing consumers with an exceptionally quiet, and in some cases silent, operation.
