The Corsair Ironclaw Wireless Gaming Mouse with Slipstream Technology is available from today. It’ll be priced at $79.99 in the US, and £69.99 in the UK. Personally, I think that is phenomenal value for money, given just how much technology you get for your investment.
The new Ironclaw is so good, that I think even people who have the Ironclaw wired that launched just four months ago may want to upgrade. Not only is it only an extra £15 more expensive, but you really do get a lot more for such a modest price difference.
It’s still the same mouse, with the same ergonomics you know and love. However, with careful planning and consideration, there are now 10 rather than 7 programmable buttons. Again, all without compromising the original shape and feel. Plus, it still works as a wired mouse, with the same performance from that 18,000 DPI optical sensor.
Of course, it now also performs exactly the same in wireless mode using Slipstream. Then if you’re travelling, drop it into Bluetooth mode for up to 50 hours of battery life. If that’s not good value for money, I don’t know what is.
It’s a very versatile gaming mouse, and while the larger size will be best suited to those with larger hands, I personally found it very comfortable. Even more comfortable than the new Corsair Glaive RGB Pro! Plus, with all those programmable buttons, it’s great for macros, and adding extra profiles, DPI toggles etc. Overall, it all just makes it a versatile workhorse in the office, but a swiss army knife when it comes to gaming too. Plus, there’s good reason why that PixArt sensor is appearing in all the top Corsair mice these days. 1 to 1 tracking from 100 to 18,000 DPI can not be understated.
It’s easily one of the best mice Corsair has made in a long time, and that’s saying something. What’s so amazing to me is how this mouse decimated its self. The Ironclaw is a great mouse, make no mistake, we love it. However, after just four months, the wireless version just walks all over it with more features and functionality.
