How Much Does it Cost?

Corsair has confirmed that the SP120/SP140 fans are available either individually or as kits for the following prices:

The main difference between the single and kit fan products is that the latter is provided out of the box with the aforementioned ‘Lighting Node CORE’ hub controller whereas the individual fan will require an ARGB hook-up or separate hub controller depending on your set-up.

Based on the prices, however, it’s hard to argue that these fans represent some excellent value for money. Yes, you can buy cheaper ARGB fans, but for a couple of quid you might save, are you really going to benefit from it when you look at the hefty performance (both in terms of aesthetics, noise, and airflow) these Corsair models provide?… We doubt it!

Performance

Despite the relatively benign price tag, the Corsair SP120/SP140 RGB Elite’s are definitely excellent options for your system cooling. Being entirely suitable for case airflow or updating/improviding your existing cooler solution, these would look fantastic sat in any PC system.

Better still, with a strong airflow and low noise output, they don’t just look good, but in terms of what a fan is expected to do (cool air in and hot air out) these smash that remit too!

Should I Buy One?

Affordable, pretty, and almost certainly an upgrade on what you have. Unless you prefer to enter the realms of exceptionally expensive cooling solutions, the Corsair SP120/SP140 RGB Elite (either as a kit or individually) is a fantastic choice for practically all PC gaming enthusiasts. They’re bright, bold, vivid, and do their job. Yes, they certainly grab your visual attention, but in terms of audial, you’ll barely hear these made a whisper!

Pros

Amazingly bright and bold ARGB lighting effects
Entirely suitable for chassis airflow or as an upgrade on your generic cooling solutions (such as on an AIO).
An exceptionally competitive and attractive price point
Strong airflow performance while providing minimal noise output

Cons

The kits do not include any splitters for the fan’s PWM connections. So you’ll either need to get one or make sure your motherboard has enough free ports
Although you are provided with an ARGB hub controller, this does not allow for manual control of the lighting effects. As such, an ARGB compatible motherboard (or separate power connection) is necessary to get the light show running
