Corsair K68 Now With RGB LEDs
Corsair has a lot of mechanical keyboards and they have a lot of RGB LED products. Eventually, you can expect them to keep on merging both. Which is exactly what they have done with the Corsair K68 mechanical keyboard. It is now available in an RGB LED per key variant, unsurprisingly named K68 RGB.
What Does Corsair Mean by Spill-Resistant?
Other than its fancy looks, one of the most notable features of the K68 is its spill-resistance. To be exact, they are claiming an IP32 rating. This is the standard called Ingress-Protection with the first decimal referring to dust resistance level and the second digit is for water resistance.
Particle resistance goes from 0 to 6, while water-resistance goes from 0 to 9. IP32 means The K68 has a level 3 dust protection and level 2 water protection. Specifically, it is protected from dust and debris that are larger than 2.5 mm. In terms of liquid protection, it is protected against dripping water when tilted at 15 degrees. This is not the same as a continuous water-spray or total immersion. So the user still has to be careful.
Corsair actually prepared a video demonstrating this feature. Check it out below:
What Other Features Can Buyers Expect?
Underneath, Corsair uses Cherry MX red switches. These provide linear, non-tactile actuation and are German made. Each keycap is fully illuminated with its own LED, plus there are dedicated media keys available. This even includes an analog audio wheel at the top, as well as a media control keys above the numpad. For added comfort, the K68 RGB also features a detachable wrist-rest.
How Much Does the Corsair K68 RGB Mechanical Keyboard Cost?
The Corsair K68 RGB mechanical RGB keyboard is available directly from Corsair’s website. It costs €119.99 EUR inc. VAT, and it should also be available from authorized Corsair resellers as well.
