Cougar Evolution Mid-Tower PC Chassis Review

For the installation I opted to remove the rear 120mm fan and its quick release mounting bracket, replacing it with our Antec 920 Kuhler, I would have mounted it to the top of the chassis but there is only enough clearance for standard chassis fans without conflicting with the motherboard and ram.

The width of the chassis provides more than enough clearance for our radiator and fans though, leaving plenty of room between the fans, water pipes and the CPU cooling block. Below that the 8 expansion slots provide our GTX 560 Ti with a little extra breathing room and there is plenty of clearance for our Antec PSU in the bottom of the chassis.

The quick release drive bays come pre-drilled with the appropriate holes for mounting out SSD, you can also see here the drive tray is completely removable, although without any other proper hard drive mounts, what purpose this would serve isn’t clear.

With the side panel on there is a great view of the inside of the chassis, but the limited cable management options have left things looking a little untidy, combine that with the brightly coloured cables that supply the top/front panel of the chassis being visible leaves things looking even more untidy, simple issues that could have been resolved with larger cable management cutouts in better positions and a few rubber grommets.
