Cougar MX440 MESH RGB PC Case Review

Complete System

The Cougar MX440 MESH RGB PC Case offered up no surprises, and really, it’s quite a generic layout on the interior, making it very simple and easy to work with, making it appealing to first time builders and experienced builders alike. There’s a good amount of space too, despite it being a bit smaller than the MX600, everything fit with ease!

There’s room for a large CPU cooler, thanks to the wide case design. This means you’re limited to 170mm CPU cooler height, which is loads, there’s not a right lot that won’t fit in here.

The same goes for the graphics card size, as the case will support up to 320mm cards. That’s a pretty hefty card, and you would have to find something pretty bonkers to push past that. As you can see my GTX 1080 Ti fit with ease, but something like an RTX 3090 will fit just fine too.

The cable routing holes are a little tight, but sufficient for a case this size and they’re placed well enough to keep cable runs nice and short.

Of course, I’m an “if it fits, I’ll fit it” kinda PC builder, so I’ve pretty much obstructed these holes with an E-ATX motherboard, alas, I think it looks great and again, cables are hardly all over the place here.

A small hole for passing the GPU PSU cables vertically would be nice, but it’s hardly a deal-breaker.

Of course, with those stunning RGB fans grabbing your attention, you can see that every part of the case is going to get some very direct airflow. The GPU, the CPU cooler, etc, will benefit greatly from the plentiful airflow.

With everything back in place, you can see the hardware on the interior. However, since the glass is tinted, it hides fittings and fixtures more, but any RGB or LED hardware shines through nicely.

The front panel looks fantastic when the power was off, but it’s bathed in colour thanks to the built-in RGB lighting.

With the front panel button, you can simply tap it to cycle through a range of colours and effects.

So you can easily find something to suit your taste.
