How Much Does it Cost?
Amazingly, the Cougar MX660 Mesh is available from around £60 if you want it without the RGB fans. However, the model I reviewed with the three ARGB fans and the built-in hub is just £89.06 on Amazon, which is pretty great value for money for a case of this size.
Overview
Cougar may not be the biggest name in western markets, but it’s clear they’re making all the right moves. The Cougar MX660 Mesh ticks every single box for the modern PC gaming case and then some. While Corsair and other big names may have a lot of prestige, Cougar competes on every front and manage to do so at a price that is kinder to your wallet.
The Usual Stuff
Like all modern PC cases, you get a tempered glass window on the left side. What I do like is that it’s a full-size panel, and has mounts at the back, so it looks super clean. Furthermore, it has a foam layer on the frame, so it fits nice and snug and won’t let dust in.
You get a full-length PSU shroud, which looks great. However, it also offers up additional drive mounts, cable routing, and clearance for a front radiator/fan configuration.
Of course, there’s ARGB lighting, too, with three fans pre-installed in the front, giving you a lot of customisation to play around with. There’s a built-in hub to sync up all the RGB too, which six ports, meaning you have three spare to expand your configuration in the future.
Mesh
With three fans in the front, airflow is not going to be an issue. The huge mesh front panel means the fans don’t have to work hard to pull in significant airflow. Of course, the fans are a little more audible at higher RPM as the front is so open. However, there’s so much airflow and ventilation that it’s unlikely the system will suffer from overheating unless really pushed.
Should I Buy One?
The Cougar MX660 Mesh is hitting all the right marks. The addition of a vertical GPU mount, room for extra-long graphics cards, huge motherboards, and other enthusiast hardware make it a fine choice for those wanting a stylish and capable PC case without spending a small fortune.
