Cougar Spike Mini Gaming Tower Chassis Review

The Cougar Spike isn’t anythign incredible, but I still think it’s pretty cool non the less. Even with several shortfalls compared to some competing brands products it still has enough good qualitys to redeem it that make it a more than valid choice for those looking for a compact design with a budget of under £50.00

Given that I’ve seen this chassis online for around £40 its safe to say that it’s relatively cheap and the price tag alone indicates to me that it’s not targeted at the high end, or enthusiast system builder market, but more at the budget concious low-mid market, a market that it’s very well suited to.

Not everyone has expert system building knowledge, nor do they care to learn it and if you’re after a robust and capable box to put in your graphics card, motherboard, PSU and other components, and you don’t have any intention of installing large water cooling radiators or half a dozen hard drives in RAID configurations, then the Cougar Spike is ideal for you, it’s just enough for a low-mid range system and little else, perfect for those who want a simple, quick and pain free build process.

Its compact size lends its self well to those with smaller office space, small desk space or something you need to tuck into the corner of a bedroom, it’s not very tall and needs very little floor space and this will no doubt be a keen selling point for many as not everyone has room for a super-tower next to their desk.

Overall it’s a great little product and while it doesn’t quite score an eTeknix award, it does still deserve some merits, it’s cheap, it’s well made, it’s compact and it’s really simply to use, if your on the market for a chassis with those qualities and you like they styling, then the Spike is a great option for your build.
