Crucial MX200 1TB Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Crucial MX200 1TB is already widely available and it’s worth to do some price checking before you decide on your purchase. At the time of review, this drive can be had at Amazon UK for £340.00, Aria PC for £354.79, Scan Computers for £358.92, and OverclockersUK for £369.98. US readers can find it at Amazon for $445.99 or NewEgg for $469.99 while German readers can find the MX200 1TB starting at €429.90.

Conclusion

The Crucial MX200 1TB drive impressed me. While it was a little bit slower than the 250GB model in some areas, although not by much, the overall scores were still great; it is one of the best scoring drives we have in our Anvil’s Storage Utilities benchmark. The drive had a consistent line of results no matter the load level, both before and after the conditioning of the drive.

As we’ve seen with the other drives, the optics don’t change much in the house of Crucial. The silver casing has a sticker on each side, where the top one displays the series background and Crucial log and the bottom one has all the relevant information such as serial numbers, revisions, and certifications.

The price of this drive is awesome and it gets better with the included Acronis cloning software. While it isn’t everyone that needs this, it’s a great tool to have at your disposal when switching from an old OS drive to a new one. It will be a tough match for anyone to deliver as much performance at this price point; you can’t really go wrong with this drive.

Pros

  • 1TB Capacity
  • Consistent and good transfer speeds
  • 320TB endurance rating
  • 9.5mm adapter included
  • Hardware encryption

Neutral

  • No 3.5-inch adapter

“The Crucial MX200 1TB SSD delivers hardware encryption, great performance and a lot of storage space – and it does that at an incredible low-cost.”
