Crucial’s Upcoming Gen 5 SSD Leaks, Speeds Up To 14,500 MB/s

SSD’s are getting faster and faster with every generation, yet I’m still not convinced that I need anything more than a gen 3 drive, besides that, Crucial’s upcoming T705 Gen 5 SSD has been leaked and will be showcasing blazing fast speeds of up to 14,500 MB/s

Crucial T705 Leak

As shared by overclock3d, the Crucial T705 PCIe Gen 5 SSD has been leaked courtesy of momomo_us & deepbluen on Twitter. This SSD will be marking itself as one of the fastest Gen 5 drives on the market as based upon the leaked data it will be seeing speeds of up to 14,500 MB/s, model sizes of 1TB, 2TB and 4TB, and will use Micron 232 Layer TLC 3D NAND. There is no information on what controller this uses but there are predictions for Phison’s E26 Max14um controller.

Other information is that it will likely be available with or without a heatsink and Crucial are planning a limited edition white variant of the SSD which will be a nice touch for some white themed systems.

As for pricing and release date, no Idea but one thing can be assured is that this drive will be expensive, again begging the question whether it’s worth it for the average gamer or desktop user over a much cheaper gen 3 drive.
