Cryorig C7 Low-Profile CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Cryorig C7 is certainly affordable, clocking in at just £29.99 and it marks a serious upgrade for those using stock coolers, especially if you’re running a non-overclocking CPU. It’s easily one of the best looking low-profile coolers and ideal for the HTPC market.

Overview

Silence is golden and it’s the acoustic performance of this cooler that should have you reaching for your wallet right now. If you’re building a SFF system that is limited on space, especially one for the office or even for a HTPC where whisper quiet performance is key, then the Cryorig C7 is a no-brainer. It’s super quiet, even offering head to head competition for products from Noctua, while still delivering cooling performance that exceeds what Noctua has to offer, and even then, the Cryorig H7 is that little bit cheaper too. Like I said, this cooler is a no-brainer for those looking for a compact, powerful and quiet solution.

The build quality is superb, it may be small, but you can see a lot of thought has gone into the design. The fan looks gorgeous, and you certainly wouldn’t be afraid to have it visible within your build. It has a good weight to it too, giving it a nice quality feel and overall it feels very durable.

Cryorig really make the installation process easy too, as the fan comes pre-fitted to the fins, the screws are already in place, and you simply pop it on your motherboard and affix the screws using the very handy included tool for the job. To make things even better value for money, you get a tube of Cryorigs own high-end thermal paste included in the box, which means re-installations will not be a problem

Sure, it didn’t handle overclocking very well, but it was never designed to do so. Stock clocks are a breeze for this cooler, and it’ll still have enough headroom for mild overclocks or CPUs that use a boost mode. That being said, we use a fairly volt hungry CPU for our testing, so lower TDP CPUs should perform even better.

Pros

  • Affordable price
  • Excellent performance
  • Ultra-quiet fan
  • Low-profile design
  • Easy to install
  • Stylish aesthetics

Cons

  • None

“Cryorig are running for a perfect score with the C7. It’s cheaper, cooler and quieter than virtually everything else in its class, making it our highly recommended solution for those in need of a powerful and compact cooling solution.”
