Performance

At stock clocks, the H5 isn’t the most impressive cooler on our chart, but it still does a perfectly respectable job at +31c, putting it on par with many other low to mid range air coolers and even a few budget AIO coolers.

Pushing the heat up, we expect the H5 to move further up our charts, but we’re pleasantly surprised to see it clock in just +48c over ambient, putting it in the same performance bracket as the Arctic 120 liquid cooler, and helping it clock in the mid-range performance category of our charts.

Acoustic performance is certainly a strong point for the H5 Universal, with the fans staying at a steady 39dBa throughout the stock tests, which is quiet enough to never be of concern to anyone, even those with fairly open chassis designs.

While overclocked, the H5 Universal did even better, only topping out at a whisper quiet 41dBa, which is comparable to many of the high-end air coolers from be quiet! (although they do have more fans).
