Cyberpower Hyper Liquid 100 GTX 1080 Gaming PC Review

Gaming Performance

Grand Theft Auto 5

Despite being a few years old, Grand Theft Auto V is a visual masterpiece and one of the most creative open world environments to grace the PC platform. Once paired with a 1080p monitor, the system attains a fantastic frame rate well above 144 which makes it a suitable choice for those who enjoy playing games at a high refresh rate. The experience remains extremely solid during 2560×1440 testing without any major frame dips or noticeable stutter. Even when a 4K panel is used, the system achieves an average which exceeds 60 and should be more than playable for most people. Saying that, there are a few moments when the frame rate plummets to around the mid-30s.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

The Cyberpower Hyper Liquid 100’s graphics card does remarkably well when tackling the Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark and upholds a smooth, reliable user experience up to 2560×1440. It’s important to note that the Very High preset requires a hefty amount of video memory and displays astonishingly detailed assets. This makes the system’s performance even more impressive. Unlike the 3DMark data, it seems the lower clock speed limits the frame rate slightly but it’s not enough to cause any concern. If you wish to use the system alongside a 4K TV or monitor, I’d recommend dialling back the settings because the GPU doesn’t quite have the required horsepower to maintain 60 frames per second.

Hitman

Next up is Hitman which supports the latest DirectX 12 API and includes a huge array of NPCs in particular levels. As you can see, the machine’s graphics card performs extremely well and is competitive with other systems sporting similar hardware. Saying that, the Wired2Fire Diablo Elite takes a surprisingly large advantage during 1440p testing but this is probably down to the GPU’s substantial boost clock. On another note, the graphical fidelity while using a 4K render proves too much and will only be acceptable if you can look past significant frame rate drops on a regular basis.

Far Cry Primal

In Far Cry Primal, there’s hardly anything to choose between a number of gaming PCs opting for the GTX 1080. While running this title at 1920×1080, the performance is stellar and isn’t too far away for fulfilling the needs of those who employ a 120Hz panel. Once the resolution is set to 1440p, the frame rate is commendable given the demanding preset and rarely drops under the 60 mark. As expected, the system encounters some problems during 4K testing but this is a situation shared by rival products.
