Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, the forthcoming next-gen console version of From Software’s acclaimed RPG, will run at 60fps/1080p. The news was announced by publisher Bandai Namco, who confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version will run at 60 frames in full HD, with strong rumours suggesting the same is true for the Xbox One. The updated game will also feature enhanced lighting effects and cinematic filters.
The video below, courtesy of IGN, shows how the PS4 build compares with the last-gen and PC versions of the game:
Anyone familiar with the previous iteration of the game will be in for a surprise, though: enemy and item locations have been moved, so players of Scholar of the First Sin will not have familiarity to fall back on.
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is out on 7th April for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
