Currently retailing for around £52.99-£59.99 you are getting a really decent combination of lighting and performance. I personally struggle to think of a better cooler I have seen recently which performs well both in terms of cooling ability and lighting effects. For coolers in this price range, while you may not have the whisper-quiet performance of some, this at least matches the performance of many £10-£20 more expensive.

Overview

I’m highly impressed with this product. As above, I am always a little reticent when it comes to RGB and Cooling combinations as often they give with the one hand and take with the other. The Deep Cool Gammax GT, however, provides a solid balance between options and most importantly, delivers on the cooling. Overall as well, the lighting effects that it does provide are not garish or overly obstructive. Even if you are not a fan of RGB, you should like the design of the cooler itself.

Build Quality

For a product of this budget, everything feels nice. It unboxed well, the parts were well organised, it was easy to install and operated fantastically. The fan was actually remarkably easy to fit. I only make point of that because often they can be a little tricky to properly clip on. Particularly if you’re working in a tight chasis. I would perhaps suggest though that the mass of cabling to operate the RGB lighting isn’t best suited if cable management is your priority.

Fans

The product comes with a single Deep Cool fan with RBG lighting options. As above, it’s yet another cable to manage to get it to the SATA power supply, and as such cable management with this cooler would need some consideration. There are many cables and adaptors supplied in the box to make this work, but it does all seem a little heavy-duty if you’re only looking for basic RGB lighting effects.

For the performance of the fan itself, as can be seen in the figures, it’s not overly quiet. I still maintain though that it is not obtrusively loud and clearly is doing a good job of keeping the processor cool.

Performance

The performance figures for a cooler of this type and budget were excellent. While the price might push this a little higher than some alternatives, the comprehensive RGB lighting options might tip this for those looking for good performance with some flashy effects.

Based on the figures as well, particularly some of the coolers it is competing with, this has punched above its weight.

Should I Buy One?

The answer to this is dependant on what you are looking for from a cooler. If you are after a straight up cooler with no bells and whistles or a whisper quiet silent running mode, this product isn’t probably going to be for you. If you are, however, looking for some nice basic RGB effects with cooling performance to back it up, then yes. Most definitely. I would perhaps add the slight caveat that the RGB options are a little more impressive than most within this range, but that speaks volumes for the combined performance.

The Deep Cool Gammax GT is perhaps best described as an all-round product that will be perfect to meet the needs of most who want a nice looking system but don’t want to spend a fortune achieving it. Put simply, if you’re looking for good performance and impressive RGB options, then this is definitely for you.
