The Deepcool Captain 120EX is available from eBuyer for a very reasonable £55, which is only £3 more than the original black and red model. Overall, the cooling performance was great too, so it’s a decent return on investment overall.
Overview
There’s a lot to love about this cooler, despite the fact it was never built or intended to be a high-end cooler, it still rocks a good game in the mid-range market. The cooling performance on a non-overclocked CPU is fantastic, with low temperatures and very low acoustic performance that is sure to keep anyone’s system working perfectly. However, even when we put on a heavy overclock, the cooler still did a commendable job, and while I would ideally use this cooler for a slightly less aggressive overclock, given better temperatures and allowing the fans to run a little slower, it’s good to see that’s it’s capable of being pushed that little bit harder should you need it to.
The aesthetics are spot on too, with a white radiator and pump design it’s sure to appeal to those who are part of the growing trend of white hardware. With many white chassis designs already on the market, as well as black and white finish motherboards and graphics cards, the 120EX is a perfect fit and is sure to compliment your build design with ease. It’s also nice to see that there isn’t a huge price premium on the white model, as at the very core of it, it’s the same product in new clothes.
Build quality is very good overall, from the high-quality fan to the thick and braided tubing. What we love the most, however, is that pump design. It’s the same pump design we’ve seen on previous Deepcool AIO’s, but it still stands out from the crowd as one of the best designed and coolest looking pumps on the market thanks to that nuclear reactor inspired top section and exposed cooling pipe.

“Deepcool has long been one of the best options on the market for those looking for a power and stylish AIO water cooler at a competitive price and the new 120EX is no exception. An ideal choice for any mid-to-high end gaming PC.”
