DeepCool LT520 AIO Liquid Cooler Review

How Much Does it Cost?

At the time of writing, retail availability for the DeepCool LT520 is still a little sketchy. With that being said, however, DeepCool has confirmed that UK consumers should be looking at a price of around £99 for the LT520, and, for those of you interested, about £120 for the 360mm LT720.

So, yeah, let’s be honest, when compared to other options, this isn’t exactly a cheap 240mm AIO. – With that being said though, based on the performance this offers, I still firmly believe that this is worth every single penny!

Overview

DeepCool has, in my view, created an amazing product with the LT520. In terms of aesthetics, while the ARGB lighting is solely the domain of the CPU block, I can honestly say that I think this is one of the most attractive “basic” designs I’ve ever encountered. This is, of course, not including those on notably more expensive AIO cooler models which allow you to actually have custom images, system performance information, and basic GIF animations on an LED display.

In terms of practicality, the LT520 is exceptionally easy to live with. The installation methodology is both straightforward and easy to understand making this an ideal choice for experienced or new hands to the world of AIO liquid coolers.

And performance? Well, you only have to look at the figures to see that this is one of the most potent cooling solutions we’ve ever tested. Yes, fan curves will hugely benefit from some manual tweaking on the user’s part, but if you want icy-cool CPU performance, then the LT520 is a perfect choice!

Should I Buy One?

If you want a high-performance AIO liquid cooler that offers something truly unique and special in terms of aesthetics, not to mention some market-leading performance, then the DeepCool LT520 is undoubtedly a great option. – I do think that its price tag is a bit of a problem. Largely because a lot of its apparent competition is quite notably less expensive in the 240mm AIO world. But with that being said, you really are getting what you pay for here!

We were very impressed with the DeepCool AK400. We were even more impressed with the AK500. The LT520, however, undoubtedly takes what has been an incredibly impressive range of new cooling solutions from DeepCool to even greater heights! – Yep, in terms of new cooling products, DeepCool is having an absolutely stellar 2022!

Pros

  • One of the best temperature-controlling CPU coolers we have ever tested
  • Amazing aesthetics – I love the design on the CPU block
  • Quality design with plenty of excellent features and practical aspects
  • Very easy to install
  • Entirely viable for overclocking!

Cons

  • The fans are perhaps a little too potent for their own good – Small and temporary CPU temperature spikes do raise the acoustics quite notably – See ‘Neutral’ below though!
  • Potentially confusing product name. There is, of course, no such thing as a 520mm AIO liquid cooler, but the name could mislead some into not knowing this is a 240mm design (A similar issue shared with its 360mm LT720)

Neutral

  • Touching again on the fans, the ‘con’ listed above can be changed to neutral for the user who has the knowledge of how to set and test CPU fan curves within the BIOS. Default fan settings/speeds are NOT a friend of the LT520 and some little tweaks here and there could provide you with, overall, much better acoustic performance while, we suspect, barely compromising at all on its amazing levels of temperature control
  • No manual ARGB controller/power adaptor is provided – A compatible motherboard is needed to get the best out of the LT520’s amazing aesthetics
