Although officially rated to 850 watts of power output, it’s not uncommon for power supplies to be capable of outputting significantly higher than that value. When things are pushed too hard, however, it’s important that the PSU can identify this, and, more specifically, shut itself down before any risk to itself or your PCs components begins to present itself.
So, with this in mind, we can happily confirm that the OPP worked perfectly in the DeepCool PQ850M with it able to achieve 310 watts over its rated amount before the protections successfully kicked into place. It should be noted though that while this isn’t the biggest overhead we’ve ever seen, and you should always buy a power supply suitable for your system and its power needs, this is still a very respectable amount.
