The DeepCool Castle 360 RGB V2 is available now with an MSRP of £129.99 in the UK. We could not find reliable US pricing at the time of writing.

Overview

The fact that both of these cooler performed so similarly is quite remarkable. While the DeepCool Castle 360 RGB V2 is an amazing cooler, it’s based on arguably older technology. It’s an AIO, and it’s capable of cooling very high TDP processors. You’ll love what it has to offer. However, the Assassin III was built to beat their main cooling rival Noctua and the D15S. The Assassin III is a big upgrade to the DeepCool air cooling range, and I think that shows well in today’s figures. The Castle 360 is still better, but not by as much as you would think.

Why Buy the Castle 360?

Well, it’s got amazing performance, we can’t argue with that. It made easy work of our AMD Ryzen 3800X and obviously had no issues with Precision Boost Overdrive. It also provided better performance figures, albeit by a small margin. You also get a lot of aesthetics for your money. Three stunning addressable RGB fans, as well as RGB on the pump. You can pair it all to your motherboard, or the included RGB controller to customise it. In addition, you can a fan hub and RGB light hub too. You pay more, but you certainly get more too!

Why Buy the Assassin III?

Out of the two, this one really surprised me. An air cooler that managed to keep pace with a much bigger, more expensive liquid cooler. Not only did it deliver fairly similar cooling performance, but also had it beaten for acoustics too. It’s certainly the easier of the two to install also. However, keep in mind that both of them require fairly large PC cases in their own respects. Overclocking is clearly no issues, and it’s certainly one of the best air coolers I’ve had on my test bench in years.
