A Closer Look

Looking through the heatsink reveals the positioning of the 6 heatpipes and also shows off the dense aluminium fin array.

The aluminium fins aren’t actually directed vertically. They are tilted by a relatively small angle. The fins on left side of the heatsink are tilted towards the rear (the heatpipes) while the fins on the right side of the heatsink tilt towards the front of the heatsink. The central column of aluminium fins produce the appearance of an interlinked ‘criss-cross’ pattern.

The direction of the aluminium heat dissipating fins is more apparent by focusing on whether light is reflected or deflected. A professional looking ‘DeepCool’ logo makes an appearance on the heatsink’s concluding fin.

All six heatpipes enter the fin array at the rear end of the heatsink. There is an equal distance between the positioning of each of the 6 heatpipes.

Even the base of this DeepCool VGA cooler features a small heatsink. All 6 heatpipes terminate once they have exited the base by a few millimetres.

The hydro bearing 92mm 1800RPM fans offer 66CFM of airflow each with a noise rating of just under 25dbA. Their low noise rating is achieved by the use of a TPE cover fan frame to absorb vibrations and hence noise. An entirely black 3-pin fan cable is always welcomed universally.

Don’t expect to use 2 of DeepCool’s bad boys in a CrossFire or SLI configuration without specific case and motherboard problems being encountered. With the standard 25mm thick fans attached to the heatsink, the V6000 will occupy a vast amount of PCI slots; 4 to be exact.
