Dying Light 2

Although recently delayed into the early part of 2022, it’s hard to deny that ‘Dying Light 2‘ represents one of the most eagerly anticipated gaming releases of the year. For those of you planning to play this on PC, however, you might be wondering if your system has the grunt necessary to get the best out of it. – Well, following a report via DSOGaming, while we have the full, confirmed, and final PC requirements, let’s just say that if you were planning to try this out with ray tracing turned on, we sincerely hope you have an exceptionally potent graphics card because the specs in that regard are ridiculously high!

Dying Light 2 – PC Requirements!

While the minimum and recommended specifications are certainly benign enough with the ray-tracing effects turned off, should you choose to enable them, then the bottom line is if that if you want a reasonably silky-smooth running experience, you’re either going to need a very beefy graphics card (such as an Nvidia 3080) or you’re almost certainly going to have to make some kind of compromise on the graphics quality.

And bear in mind that all of the below specifications are based upon a 1080p resolution. So yep, Recommended ray tracing on at 1080p in Dying Light 2 will ideally need at least a 3080! (Ouch!).

Minimum Requirements (Ray Tracing Off)

  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-9100 or AMD Ryzen™ 3 2300X
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon™ RX 560 (4GB VRAM)
  • OS: Windows 7
  • Available storage space: 60GB HDD
*for 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second

Recommended Requirements (Ray Tracing Off)

  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2060 6GB or AMD Radeon™ RX Vega 56 8GB
  • OS: Windows 10
  • Available storage space: 60GB SSD
**for 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second

Minimum Requirements (Ray Tracing On)

  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2070 8GB
  • OS: Windows 10
  • Available storage space: 60GB SSD
***for 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second

Recommended Requirements (Ray Tracing On)

  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 3080 10GB
  • OS: Windows 10
  • Available storage space: 60GB SDD
****for 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second

Is 1440p or 4K Even Possible?!

Don’t care about ray tracing? Then the good news is that Dying Light 2 should run fairly well on any kind of relatively modern gaming PC. – With it turned on, however… Well, all we can say is that while no official specifications have yet been provided for 1440p or 4K resolution, we sincerely have our doubts, based on what we can see above, if a graphics card even exists that could handle it with a fairly smooth output.

I mean, if you need a 3080 just for 1080p, I dread to think what you’d need to get a relatively stable 4K at 30FPS. Would even one of the upcoming 3090 Ti’s be enough?!
