Mini-PCs can be incredibly useful devices to stream video content, create a home server and play older games via emulation. During CES 2017, ECS displayed their full range of PCs adopting the small-form-factor which go under the Liva branding. The range consists of the XE which employs an Intel Braswell SoC 2/4GB DDR3L and onboard WiFi. The Z model utilises an Apollo Lake SoC and has two SO-DIMMs DDR3L memory support. On another note, the ZE unit features a similar configuration but this time the end-user can install both M.2 and SATA storage solutions. Finally, the Z Plus is the most up-to-date and revolves around a Kaby Lake SoC and two DDR4 SO-DIMMs. However, there’s no support for the SATA interface due to the more compact design. Despite this, the Liva series looks impressive and we should be receiving samples of the various units rather soon.
