With the RTX 40 series, ASUS released an OG edition of their RTX 4090 TUF graphics card, this was just the 3090 cooler design and PCB on the 4090 as some people simply preferred the older design. Today EK has announced the availability of a water block designed for this specific graphics card.
ASUS TUF OG EK WaterBlock
As the TUF OG graphics card uses a different PCB, the waterblock used on the TUF RTX 4090 and Strix RTX 4090 cannot be used. The below image shows both of the PCBs with the TUF 4090 on the left and the TUF 4090 OG on the right with a larger PCB.
EK has confirmed that the ASUS TUF 4090 OG Edition is fully compatible with the existing EK-Quantum Vector2 waterblocks for the RTX 3090 Ti. Those looking to water cool this card should be aware of the different PCB designs of the TUF 4090 and the OG edition. It’s easy to get them mixed up with the similar OG and OC naming schemes.
