EKWB Releases RGB LED Reservoirs for Water-cooling

RGB LED is everywhere and very much on demand. Which is why it only makes sense for Slovenian water-cooling manufacturer EKWB to create more products with this feature. Their latest includes two reservoirs and one pump-reservoir combo with RGB LED capability. In water-cooling, a reservoir holds liquid in a container. Since they tend to be big, they also attract attention. So making them attractive and have RGB LED seems like a no-brainer.

EKWB Releases RGB LED Reservoirs for Water-cooling

The pump-reservoir combo is called the EK-XRES 140 Revo D5. It allows installation within 360-degrees of rotation and has rubber shock absorbers to silence the vibration. As the name suggests, it comes with a D5 pump at the base while an EK insert logo is in the reservoir. Users can also choose to upgrade it with an EK-UNI pump bracket for horizontal or vertical installation. Mounts for 120mm or 140mm fans are  available for those who want to be efficient with the space inside the case. With these mounts, it can easily integrate into a radiator+fan combo.

The pump connector has all its connector cables sleeved, with the RGB LED connector separate. A high-performance pump top (volute) is also already integrated with the reservoir for Xylem D5 series pumps.

EK-RES X3 150 RGB and EK-RES X3 250 RGB

For those who have a separate pump EK also has the EK-RES X3 150 RGB and X3 250 RGB. They come in 60mm wide acrylic tubes with POM Acetal end caps in black. Similar to the EK-XRES 140 Revo D5, an anti-vortex insert is inside the tube. The EK-RES X3 150 RGB has a 240ml capacity, while the larger EK-RES X3 250 RGB can hold 440ml of fluid. High quality EPDM rubber washers on both end of the reservoir ensure thare are no leaks. Six G1/4″ ports are also available so that filling and draining is easy.

Like the EK-RES 140 Revo D5, these two are compatible with RGB synching technologies from ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte.

Pricing and Availability

The EK-RES X3 150 and 250 RGB reservoirs are available for 58.95€ and 65.95€ respectively. That is with the VAT already in the price. The EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 RGB PWM understandably costs quite a bit more at 155. 95€ with VAT. All are available through the EK Webshop or via EK’s Partner Reseller Network.
