EVGA Introduces B3-Series Power Supplies

EVGA has launched the successor to the B2 series of power supply’s and to no surprise, the new series is called the B3 series. There are 5 different wattage options from 450W to 750W and they’re all 80Plus Bronze certified.

While an 80Plus Bronze certification is more entry-level oriented, it still a standard that is able to deliver a great efficiency. At typical loads, the EVGA B3 series has an efficiency rating of up to 88%. One of the great features in the new series is the low ripple of less than 2%. Both is thanks to the use of high-quality Japanese capacitors.

The EVGA B3 power supplies feature a Sleeve Bearing Fan, resulting in a quieter operation and a longer lifespan. You can optionally enable the EVGA ECO mode with the flip of a switch and get a fully silent operation at low to medium loads.

Another improvement in the B3 series is the fully modular design. Modular cables allow for easier cable routeing and installation and it also allows you to completely eliminate the cables that you don’t need in your setup.  Clearing up cables makes for a more beautiful system and it also allows the system an improved airflow.

Despite improvements in the features and the fully modular design, EVGA managed to decrease the size of these units. The three smallest wattage units in the series are only 150mm long and the two larger models are 160mm long. The short size offers more room inside your case or it will allow you to install it in smaller cases.

EVGA has a lot of experience in the PSU field and all that comes along with these units. This includes heavy-duty protections such as OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over-Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), and OTP (Over Temperature Protection).

You also get a 5-year warranty period on all these units, should the worst case scenario happen and the PSU fails. The prices are quite nice too and the largest 850W model will only set you back $99.99. The new EVGA B3 series (450W, 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W) is available now through EVGA’s own web shop and partner resellers.
