EVGA RTX 2060 & Z390 Dark at CES 2019

EVGA RTX 2060

The range of RTX 2060 cards is pretty high here at CES 2019. Of course, one of the brands we’re really looking forward to seeing was EVGA, who often kill it when it comes to great performance in this price range. As you can see, the new cards look fantastic already. They feature their first ever use of Hydro Dynamic Bearing (HDB) fans. That means low noise and longer life spans.

The fans are all the same on each card, albeit one model is two fans, while the other two are single. However, the fan blades have revised direction and designs for improved noise and airflow.

Of course, you’ll also have support for the latest Precision X1 software to deal with overclocking and management of your card.

The RTX 2060 XC is quite compact, good for shorter form factors, but with a thicker design so not to compromise on cooling performance. The XC is longer, but a little slimmer of course. The biggest is the XC Ultra, which uses a two-slot design and dual fans. Each clocked a little higher than the last of course. Expect prices from £329 – 379, available now.

Z390

Also on display is their new Dark Z390 motherboard. This one is certainly interesting, but nothing too outside of the box.

It features just two DIMM slots, located at the top of the motherboard. Strange as that may be, it’s an interesting option. You’ll also notice the CPU socket is rotated 90-degree also.

A byproduct of this appeals to be massive VRM cooling, which is now pushed towards the rear of the board, so that could mean much more impressive airflow and cooling overall. There’s a huge cut-out for the cable routing on the right, but also a wealth of SATA connections, U.2, M.2, and pretty much everything else you could hope for.

All of the full-size slots are armoured, and there’s space for a few M.2 drives here too.

Upgraded hardware, a unique PCB layout, and tuned for the enthusiast overclocker. It’s an exciting motherboard for sure. No price just yet, but keep an eye on the product page for details.
