Func HS-260 Stereo Gaming Headset Review

A Closer Look

The included cable is really nice quality and comes with a funky black and orange braided that look and feels great, very durable and it’s topped off by some decent gold plated connections. There are seperate microphone and headphone jacks on one end with a single 4 pole connection on the other.

The microphone boom is flexible enough to possition it to your liking, but tough enough that it doesn’t feel it will break. On one end we have a chunky connector for the headset with a must switch tucked away on the base, while the other end features the pin hole microphone.

Having a detachable microphone is a great bonus, as you don’t always want to chat or play online and it beats having it sticking in the air like most fold away microphones do.

The actual headset is pretty sleek in terms of design with an almost minimalist headband finished in a lightly textured plastic, overall it actually looks rather understated for a gaming headset, which are often covered in bright colours, shiny plastics and huge company logos.

On the underside of the drivers you’ll find a pair of 3.5mm sockets, either one can be used for the cable or the microphone, meaning you never have to worry about which side your cable trails from.

The ear cups are mounted on a small pivot that allows a few degrees of movement in each direction, this will help the headset get a snug fit over your ears. There is a small recess around the outside of the back of the driver and a little chrome trim for added style. The drivers are closed back design, which should help keep external noise out, headphone noise in and should also help produce a deeper bass tone.

Both of the ear cup covers are removable and since Func include an extra set you can choose between velour or leather dependant on your person preference, or at least reap the benefit of having some spare ones should the first set become damaged over time.

The headband is extendible on both sides to help provide a better fit.

A spongy padding in the top of the headband gives a comfortable fit, it’s a little firm at firm but should wear in nicely after a few hours.

Tucked about on the back of the left driver you’ll find a simple volume dial, it protrudes out a couple of millimetres so it should be easy to find quickly with your finger tips.

As I said before, the microphone can be clipped into either side of the headset. The whole thing can be rotated from the jack for better positioning and the boom is flexible, so you should have no issues finding a sweet spot for chat.

The high quality cable fits snug into the other ear cup, and again I still think its great that I can hook up the cable and microphone on either side.
