How Much Does It Cost?

As I said earlier, there are a HUGE number of models in the new Trident Z RGB series. The model we reviewed today is the G.Skill Trident Z Neo F4-3200C16D 16GB kit. It’s currently just £114.18 on Amazon in the UK, Which is around $140 in the US. However, I suggest you browse the whole range here to find the speed and latency you require.

Overview

We’ve had more than our fair share of G.Skill memory kits here at eTeknix over the years. Not just for reviews either, as we’ve had them on test benches, in personal systems and more. They’ve been making amazing memory kits for years and years, and I’m happy to report that they are still one of the best in the business. At 3600 MHz, it’s a pretty quick kit, and was setting a few new records on our benchmarks. Even those it didn’t win, it was a close competition overall.

The overclocking abilities are impressive too. I don’t think I’ve ever had a kit hit 4000 Mhz with so little effort. Of course, your mileage will vary depending on the modules, your motherboard, CPU, etc. However, if this is any indication of the range, I have high hopes.

Stylish Yet Functional

RGB is fantastic fun, but I’ll admit it’s not for everyone. However, the lighting on the Triden Z is a little less in your face than most. At least, I think it is. The design of the heatsink really takes the focus here, with its slick yet lethal-looking fins protruding from the tops. All the aluminium is functional though and helps keep the DIMMS cool enough to hit those big clock speeds. From the 10-layer PCB and hand-picked chips to the overall finish, it’s a premium product all over.

Should I Buy Them?

It’s easily some of the most stylish memory I’ve had in a while, and that’s saying something. The design is fantastic, there’s plenty of RGB should you need it, and the performance is up there with the best. The price of the kit we reviewed is amazing value. However, I love that G.Skill offers such a diverse range of kits in this range, so everyone should be able to find something suitable for their system, be that Intel or AMD.
