Game of Thrones Prequel Charts Rise and Fall of House Targaryen

Flashbacks are a rarity in HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones. As such, the history of Westeros exists only in the passing words of the show’s characters. However, a new animated series is set to delve into the event preceding the show. Specifically, the animation will show the rise of Aegon “The Mad King” Targaryen, his subsequent rule over the Seven Kingdoms, and his usurpation following Robert’s Rebellion.

The Future of Game of Thrones

Reportedly, we’ll be waiting until 2019 for Game of Thrones‘ eighth and final season. Beyond that, HBO is in pre-production on an as-yet-revealed spin-off show.
