Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Gamemax Iceberg 120mm AIO RGB CPU cooler is available now for just £46.17, which is incredible value for money given the performance on offer. However, if you feel you need more performance, there is a 240mm version available for £62.57.

Overview

When shopping for a CPU liquid cooler, it’s easy to be distracted by some of the more established brands and their high prices. Of course, they’re well tried and tested in the market, and picking something like Corsair isn’t really a bad choice at all. However, not everyone wants to spend £60, £80, or even £100+ on a CPU cooler, nor do they have the budget to do so. Of course, for under £50, the Gamemax Iceberg 120 is incredible value for money, and on price alone, it’s sure to appeal to many system builders.

RGB

Adding lighting to pretty much everything has been the cool thing to do throughout 2017. I love the lighting on this cooler, it’s soft colours and built-in transitions give it some added visual flair that’s not so common on more affordable products. The downside is that you cannot turn it off or change the colours yourself, but it’s pretty subjective is that’s something you do or don’t want in your build.

Cooling

Concerning performance, the Gamemax is pretty fantastic. Furthermore, the temperatures were much lower than I expected from a compact cooler design. The 120 is easily competitive with more expensive air cooling products. Given we’re running an i7-7700K at 5 GHz, it had no issues in keeping our CPU at a comfortable level. I think most of that comes from the superb quality of the fan. The 120mm fan ran incredibly quiet and the pump was virtually silent too, making this one of the more appealing AIOs on the market today.

Pros

  • Compact design
  • Good socket support
  • Quiet pump
  • Very quiet fan performance
  • Built-in lighting
  • Competitive performance
  • Affordable price
  • Thermal paste included

Cons

  • Lighting cannot be customised
  • Tubing looks quite thin
