Gamemax Moonstone Tempered Glass RGB Chassis Review

A Closer Look – Exterior

Straight away, this chassis makes quite an impression. Does the design innovate? Not really, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t great to look at. As with the current market trend, you’ll find tempered glass on the front panel, as well as on both side panels. Of course, that’s a great thing, because tempered glass looks bloody awesome on a PC case.

Down the right side, more of that tinted glass, so those RGB fans are sure to really make your system shine from all angles. Airflow to the front fan comes through the full-height vents on both sides of the chassis. The indirect airflow is good as it provides a lot of noise dampening qualities. Of course, it also means the front panel can be one solid piece of glass, which looks great.

Triple RGB Front Fans!

The front panel has three 120mm RGB fans behind it, they’re quite easy to see with their milky white fan blades. Of course, with the interior lights off, this chassis is very reflective. Not only can I see my legs, I can also see a pink wash basket in the reflection; they’re not included, sorry folks.

The front panel is a little busy looking, but it doesn’t have plenty of nice features. On the left, there’s an LED lighting control switch, allowing you to cycle through colours and effects, or turn off the lights. There are four USB ports, more than enough for most people. Of course, you have HD audio jacks and the power controls too. Finally, we have the fan controller on the right, allowing you to get increased cooling performance, or blissful silence when you need it most.

The top panel looks neat and tidy thanks to a magnetic dust filter. You can easily remove the filter to clean it, and get access to the top radiator and fan mounts.

Dual 360mm Radiator Support

There are elongated screw mounts for both 120mm and 140mm hardware. Of course, you’ll be able to install plenty of fans, or radiators of up to 280/360mm. You’ll find the same mounts behind the front panel, with room for another radiator up to 280/360mm.

Around the back, you’ll find another pre-installed 120mm RGB LED fan. The mount does support a 140mm fan too, if you wanted to swap out the stock on for your own, or a radiator. There are 8 x expansion slots, each fitted with ventilated and reusable covers. Obviously, the PSU cut-out is at the bottom and supports inverse mounting. Finally, there’s quite a lot of passive ventilation too, especially on the motherboard side so heat doesn’t build up in the rear compartment of the chassis.

The four feet have rubber grips on the base of the chassis, which will help reduce unwanted vibrations. Finally, we also have a slide out dust filter for the PSU air intake.
