GeForce GPU Shipments Could Stop Thanks to Samsung

NVIDIA and Samsung are in a legal battle right now, with Samsung threatening NVIDIA with a new sales ban.

Samsung has submitted a counter lawsuit against NVIDIA with the US International Trade Commission, asking the ITC to block imports of GeForce GPUs in the United States. The lawsuit also wants to see the ban of Tegra-based mobile devices, which include things like the OUYA console, and more.

We don’t know which companies this could affect, as Samsung’s legal battle is quite private, for now.

I’m guessing this has to do with Nvidia using Samsung memory…..guess when they tried to sue Samsung they didn’t expect this to happen :/

I’m starting to wonder if Samsung’s business model consists of 90% lawsuits and 10% products. Every tech lawsuit I see involves Samsung in one way or another.

I don’t think it’s quite fair to blame Samsung – Nvidia started it. Patent trolling is an explicit aspect of nvidia’s business model since they began the Kepler ‘licensing’ program.
