From the top you can see the frameless 65mm PWM fan which does 1200-2600 RPM. It is integrated into the heatsink to keep the height as low as possible.
The mounting screws around the edges did have a tendency to cross-thread a bit so be careful. The cooler also comes pre-installed to the backplate so tight that most people will struggle to separate the two.
The frameless fan does have screws to remove it should you wish to replace the 65mm fan if it breaks or if there is another 65mm fan you know of that is better (but I very much doubt this as it appears to be a custom design)
Unfortunately we made the amateur mistake of testing before we did the photos and so the heat pipes look a bit dirty. You would of seen pre-applied high quality GC2 thermal paste had I done this correctly. Either way you can still see the two direct contact copper heat pipes.
The design is just 28mm thick – a very impressive achievement.
The provided fan uses a 4 pin PWM cable, it isn’t sleeved or blackened but for a 1U server this does not matter at all.
