Gigabyte announce GTX 470 OC Edition

Gigabyte is at it again, with a fresh edition of the GTX 470 consisting of a massive WindForce 3X radiator, tilting fins and 3x92mm PWM intelligent speed controlled fans and between all of this, is a pure copper heat pipe to aid with thermal conductivity.

The card has the part number GV-N470OC-13I 2.0 and still is said to have the same PCB and layout other than the above mentioned.

Specifications wise, nothing is set in stone, but we are told that it should have a 630MHz core clock and 448 stream processors and will use a 320-bit memory interface with 1280MB of GDDR5 memory.

Connectivity wise, you can expect two DVI outputs and also a HDMI output which is more than sufficient for even the most hardcore gamers.

The styling on the box hasn’t changed, but why should it? Whereas you can clearly see the different in card design between the old and new below.

Overall a not-so-astonishing improvement, but the cooler design should allow for significantly higher clocks than the stock edition.

Ideally, this will be aimed at the overclocker who wants a great cooling solution out of the box, so Gigabyte’s relatively small stock clock improvements can be forgiven.
