Introduction

Gigabyte Aorus P850W

Gigabyte has one of the best-known gaming brands with their Aorus range of products. With a surprisingly large range of products on offer, they are a brand that has an excellent reputation. Not just for a name, but also the top level of performance that their various products bring to the market.

With this in mind, we take a look at their Aorus P850w. A fully modular power supply offering 850w of power. Based on this, it should, at least on paper, be an excellent option for nearly any gaming PC. In addition to all this though, it also comes with gold certification meaning a very high level of performance efficiency.

Features

With it offering 846w of power through a single 12V rail, this power supply is already ticking all the right boxes. In terms of its full features though, these include;

  • Fully Modular Design
  • High quality 100% Japanese Capacitors
  • 135mm 2 ball bearing smart fan with fan stop function
  • 80 PLUS Gold certified: above 90% efficiency at 50% load

What Gigabyte Had to Say

“80 Plus Gold certified ensures to deliver 90% efficiency at 50% load. The better power efficiency leads to less power waste, less heat and less fan noise. And with the support of Intel processors, it will save more energy and more money.” –  Gigabyte Aorus

Cabling

With this being non-modular, it’s important to know exactly what cables this power supply is provided with. Although this is detailed on the rear of the packaging we will detail it for you below.

  • 2 x CPU
  • 6 x SATA

Gigabyte has provided an excellent diagram of the cables just in case you do not know what the specific ones are called.
