The RTX 2080 Ti from Gigabyte absolutely lost the plot at 1080p, dropping below that of the Gigabyte GTX 1080. It’s not like it’s unplayable at 121.3 FPS, but it clearly has some driver issues even if other 2080 Ti cards have not. However, we know the GPU isn’t faulty, as at 4K it scored our second highest FPS ever, both average and minimum. What’s going on? We’ll have to retest in coming weeks and see if this fixes its self!

The same performance issues presented themselves in Rise of the Tomb Raider also. Performance drops off a cliff at 1080p, yet still excels at 2160p. This is very strange indeed, but I’m confident it’s drivers, not the GPU, and I’ve seen similar performance in other reviews also, so it doesn’t appear to be something we’re doing.
