Gigabyte Z490I AORUS Ultra Motherboard Review

Overclocking

It seems that all of the Intel Z490 chipset motherboards come with very comprehensive VRM configurations and power delivery. As such, every board we tested was able to hit 5.2 GHz on all cores. We know the CPUs will go higher, but for your average consumer, a simple multiplier adjustment and voltage setting seems to be all you’ll need to push the new Intel CPUs.

The Gigabyte Z490I AORUS Ultra Motherboard reached 5.2 GHz with the BIOS voltage set to 1.335v.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
