BIOS

Gigabyte’s UEFI BIOS implementation is really nice. As far as I know it runs at a native resolution of 1080p and it has a really sensible and clean layout. The headings make sense and the tabs under those headings make finding what you want really easy. The number of options are more than enough, and advanced enough, for a motherboard of its price point. The system monitoring on the sides is also pretty cool. The only thing I don’t like is that Gigabyte only provide two USB 2.0 ports so you cannot have a mouse, keyboard and USB thumb drive connected to the BIOS all at one time. I had to sacrifice the mouse to use the USB thumb drive.

If for some reason you do not like the high resolution 1920 x 1080 UEFI BIOS then you can switch to a smaller 1024 x 768 version which you can see below.

Gigabyte also offer a legacy BIOS that is a lot more “old school style”. This is not why the UEFI is called DualBIOS though – that is because the motherboard has two BIOS chips in case one fails.
