GPU Pricing Update – July 2023

Introduction

Can you believe that it’s July already and in typical fashion, it’s time for us to look at GPU pricing and how things are looking compared to how they’ve been recently. We all know that GPU prices are still a weird one as some months they’re up, some they’re down but for July, it looks like GPU prices are continuing to fall.

So a little bit of housekeeping to start. If you’re avid reader of eTeknix, then you’ll be more than aware as to how we do things, but for those of you who haven’t, let’s recap. Over the last couple of years, GPU prices saw some pretty big hikes with stock being an issue, Crypto screwing everything up among other things, and greed for retailers and distributors adding another element into the mix. Luckily, things are starting to look better overall, and every month or so we take a look at how things compare, in an aim to show you the best deals around in both the US and the UK on both AMD and NVIDIA cards. For those wondering, we will be adding Intel at a later date as they pick up more steam.

Now, with the cost of living being so high, investing money into a shiny new GPU has ended up being one of the most difficult decisions that gamers have had to make, and with me being all about value for money, we set out to show you the best time to buy a graphics card in the hope that you don’t pay over the odds.

Now while stock is still somewhat fragile, we do try to find the best GPU per range and it’s a bit of a given that buying a custom AIB card that’s pre-factory overclocked, or has a beefier cooler, will demand a higher premium, so if you’re looking at high-end Nitro+, STRIX, SUPRIM X or AORUS XTREME cards, it’s safe to say that you’ll be expected to pay more. For the purposes of this, we are focussing on the cheapest card per range to give you a rough ballpark figure as to what you should be expected to pay.

If you’re confused about anything, then we do always have our amazing Discord server, where we’ll be more than happy to help guide you through what’s available, what’s right for you and what your hard earned cash should be spent on. Also, if you love gaming and appreciate the huge amounts of hard work that me and the team put in, then consider supporting us over on Patreon, where you’ll get access to a ton of cool goodies including monthly live Q&A sessions, exclusive behind the scenes content, access to our testing data, meetups and so much more.
