Journey to Un'Goro

Part of what makes Blizzard games so good is that they’re often updated with new content and new features, and Hearthstone is definitely no exception, as the highly popular free-to-play online collectible card video game is set to receive a new expansion next month. We’re talking about “Journey to Un’Goro,” which will take players on a trip to the prehistoric section of Azeroth named Un’Goro Crater. The expansion will include 135 new cards, many of which will probably be dinosaurs, and some of them will be unlockable by completing the new single player campaign, which comes with its own set of challenges.

“Travel to the forbidding jungles of Un’Goro Crater, where primordial creatures from the dawn of time roam. Here, giant dinosaurs infused with raw magical power mercilessly hunt their prey, prehistoric fauna and flora abound, and unchained elementals run wild with primitive magic. Prepare your decks for the expedition of a lifetime!”

Some of the most interesting cards that we’ve seen so far include Amara and its Battlecry that sets the hero’s health to 40, as well as Volcano, which deals a significant amount of damage to all minions at random. As far as class changes are concerned, it looks like Druids will receive a new minion ability named Adapt, which offers various upgrades for the player’s cards. These include Crackling Shield (grants Divine Shield), Flaming Claws (grants +3 attack), Lightning Speed (grants windfury), Liquid Membrane (minions cannot be targeted by hero spells or Hero Powers), Living Spores (grants Deathrattle: Summon two 1/1 plants), and Massive (grants taunt).

There’s currently an offer available that allows you to pre-order a Journey to Un’Goro 50-pack card bundle for $49.99, but you’ll also be able to unlock the expansion and its new cards using in-game gold.
